David Thorne Scott and the Hopeful Romantics

The Lily Pad, Inman Square, Cambridge, MA

Singer and pianist David Thorne Scott brings new material, a new band, and a new format to you.  Renowned across New England as a jazz singer and member of the group Syncopation, David has performed at the area's top jazz clubs and has sung with the Boston Pops.  As a classical singer he has performed with the groundbreaking Blue Heron renaissance choir, which the New Yorker lauds for "expressive intensity" and a "quiver of passion".

Now you can see a different side.  He's got a new book of slick original songs in a groovy pop-jazz style, he's got a hot young band, and he's singing from the piano.  This summer David heads into the studio for a collaboration with a multi-platinum award winning producer to bring his original songs to a wider audience.  Cadence Magazine says David "phrases like a saxophone player and is as slippery and hip as a young Mel Tormé".  Catch this group while you can!

With bassist Will Cafaro, guitarist Mark Hadleyn, and drummer Jazz Robinson
